There are already some discussions in our community chat and github about a community translation tool.

There are so much free tools (For open-source projects).

I catched up two. Both are free for open source projects. Does anyone has expierence with one of them? Or knowlege with another one?

I used Launchpad, transifex, crowdin, GlotPress, Pootle and Weblate beside some offline tools. Mostly as a translator and sometimes as language maintainer. Some of them have self hosted options (GlotPress, Pootle and Weblate as far as I know), others could be used as a service.

So I wanted to mention some information and requirements here without an exact suggestion. Because I'm not sure which is better or what we need exactly.

As a note: One good developer who I know (Nicholas Dionysopoulos from akeebabackup.com) moved from transifex and published a detailed post as you can see here: https://www.akeebabackup.com/news/1673-d...tware.html

Nicholas preferred weblate recently but I don't know why or is he happy enough.

Requirements for users and translators
- Simple Interface
- Suggestions, Glossary, Easy Import/Export
- Different string views like table and detail with sorting and filtering

Requirements for language maintainers and developers
- Easy and Strong API
- Automated push/pull of strings
- Integration with Source Code and Version Control platforms like Git
- Clear price policy about Open Source projects
